The Real Reason Justin Timberlake Missed *NSYNC's Coachella Reunion

Believe it or not, Justin Timberlake had a valid excuse for missing *NSYNC's reunion at Coachella over the weekend.

On Sunday (April 14), Ariana Grande reunited the iconic boy band, bringing band members JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass back to the stage for her headlining set. Shortly after performing her record "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored," which samples the group's 2000 song "It Makes Me Ill," the "7 Rings" songbird welcomed the bandmates to the stage to perform their 1997 track "Tearin' Up My Heart."

Noticeably absent from the surprise showcase, obviously, was JT, who couldn't commit to the gig due to timing conflicts and touring obligations. According to TMZ, the "SexyBack" star was totally down for performing the surprise collaboration with his brothers in song, but "ultimately said no because he was finishing up his rescheduled world tour."

Given prior health struggles that caused JT to cancel a string of concert dates late last year, the decision is understandable. The "My Love" crooner, who is currently supporting his "Man of the Woods Tour," was forced to push back a number of dates of his trek from October through November due to "bruised vocal chords." After a month-long postponement, the 38-year-old announced the continuation of his jaunt in January.

Despite being absent nevertheless, JT made sure to show his former bandmates and the pop star some love while on tour on the East Coast in Connecticut. "You guys killed it last night," he captioned an Instagram selfie with Grande and the other *NSYNC members from last night's show.
