The United States is known for the ever-changing demographics, and because the demographics change so much, so do patterns of wealth.

Some cities harbor more wealth than others, as do certain states and regions.

Forbes used data from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2019 American Community Survey five year estimates to analyze the median household income and mean household income of about 30,000 cities, towns, villages, boroughs, Census-Designated Places in the United States.

The website states, "Combining these, we generated lists of the richest city and poorest city in each state were then identified."

So what are the richest and poorest cities in Kentucky?

To ensure accuracy and focus on "cities", there was a 1,000-household minimum to be included in the richest and poorest cities lists.

According to the study, the richest city in Kentucky is Indian Hills. The median household income is $190,313 annually, and the mean household income is $245,315.

The poorest city in Kentucky is Albany. The median household income is $18,824 annually, and the mean household income is $29,889.

The richest city that had no minimum household number is Glenview. The median household income is $250,000 annually, and the mean household income is $327,720.

The poorest city that had no minimum household number is Pathfork. The median household income is $13,854 annually, and the mean household income is $15,841.
