Taylor Swift Is The Man In Video For “The Man”

Taylor Swift dropped the video for her song “The Man” and in it she plays The Man.

The singer dons prosthetics to play the male protagonist in the clip, and obnoxious dude who yells at his co-workers, manspreads and smokes cigars on the subway, parties on a yacht, and even gets credit as the World’s Greatest Dad just for paying attention to his child for a second. The clip even shows the obnoxious dude 28 years later, marrying a trophy wife, who can’t even stand the sight of him.

The video ends with the character throwing a tantrum on the tennis court, and then cuts to Taylor in the director chair (she actually directed the clip) giving him critiques on his performance (he’s voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson).

The video ends with some time-lapse video showing Taylor’s female to male transformation.Check it out to the right.

  • After Taylor posted a note thanking The Rock for participating in the clip, he replied with a message back. “Congrats my friend! 👏🏾🙌🏾 My pleasure to voice THE MAN,” he shared. “What a transformation and more importantly, great message about women’s equality and the importance of straight up being kind and good to people." He added, "Next we sing our duet. You bring the guitar, I’ll bring the tequila.”
  • The video also features several Easter eggs, and a pretty big one happens just as The Man pees against a subway wall. Grafitti on the wall is of Taylor's album names, including "Red," "Speak Now," "1989" and "Fearless," with a sign that reads "Missing: If found return to Taylor Swift," a reference to her battle with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta over her masters.
  • ONE MORE THING!Tickets for Taylor's two "Loverfest" shows were hard to get, but it seems some folks who got those tickets wound up hacking victims, therby losing their tickets. Apparently several people who bought tickets suddenly found their seats on secondary ticketing sites after their accounts were hacked and their tickets were stolen. It seems after the hackers took their tickets they flooded their emails so they wouldn't notice Ticketmaster transfer notifications. Ticketmaster would not confirm how many Taylor fans were affected but such a breach. As for how the site handled things, if those stolen tickets had already been resold there was nothing they could do. If they hadn't they were moved back into the ticketholder's account.
